Netarhat, also known as "Queen of Chotanagpur," is a hill station located in the district of Indian State, Jharkhand, at a height of 1071 meters (3514 ft.).
This hill station is located in Chotanagpur Plateau and covers approximately 24 square kilometers. It is covered with thick forest and different types of trees, such as Sal, Kendua, Mahua, and Eucalyptus.
MAJOR POINT OF ATTARACTION
Following are the major points of attraction:
1. SUNSET POINT (MAGNOLIA POINT)
This point is located a distance of 10 km from the entry gate. Here you can enjoy the settling sun behind the horizon. The beauty of the evening can't be expressed, and it looks like a painting on canvas.
This point is also known as Magnolia Point in honor of a girl who sacrificed her life in love. According to legend, Magnolia was the daughter of a British officer and fell in love with a local shepherd, but her parents didn't accept this relationship, so she jumped off a cliff with a horse. That's why this point is named after her name.
2.SUNRISE POINT
This point is just half a kilometer from the city. The most beautiful moment of a day is sunrise, when the sun appears above the horizon. This moment can't be explained in words.
3.UPPER GHAGRI WATER FALL
It is a small water fall located 5 km from the Netarhat bus stand. Waterfalls are surrounded by trees, which make them more beautiful.
4.LOWER GHAGHRI WATERFALL
This waterfall is located at distance of 10 km from Netarhat Bus stand. Water falling from a height of 328 feet, surrounded by a dark forest, makes itself more beautiful.
5.NETARHAT RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL
This school is located near the main town. This is one of the best schools in India, based on the Gurukul system. The methodology of education in this school is so excellent that every year it produces toppers.
This school was established on November 15, 1954, after the people of Bihar. Admission to the school is done by entrance examination and interview.
6.NORTH KOEL VIEW
At a distance of 2 km in the middle of a pine forest, there is a valley into which the Koel River flows. The reflection of rising sun in the water of a river makes it more attainable. Also, at full moon, this view becomes more beautiful.
