History :-

According to legends, in 17th century the king of Mahuri invited the people of Dera People for weaving of silk.

The head Deshi Behera used to daily worship Maa Budhi Thakurani with flowers. Once while traveling to temple he saw a weeping girl who has lost her father, so he asked girl to come his house with fatherhood. The girl accepted this invitation, but she walked into nearby bushes and disappeared.

Next day he went to temple to worship Maa thakurani, when he offered flower to goddess she refused. He heard a voice saying that, you have invited me at home with fatherhood feeling, so how can I get worshiped by my father.

Further she said that She will come to stay her father's place for one month once in a two year.
